Bait and switch.

Just did a quick turn around to Dallas yesterday.  Atlee Phillips at the Heritage Gallery selected this work to go into the May sale.  Although I caught her eye with the previously posted piece from the Frio River, she switched to this image called "West Texas Sky".  I am just grateful that she has chosen my work to be in the next sale.  I am the only artist she works with directly.  All her other clients are collectors who are consigning work to Heritage.

Marsha's Sunset

My friend Marsha Robinson is an excellent photographer.  She has taken several photographs of western sunsets.  She gave me permission to paint them.  This is the first.  Not sure where this is , but it doesn't really matter.  We have all been there.  It is the edge of the world as the the sets for the day.

Sunset on the Ranch

West Texas has beautiful skies in the early evening.  Particularly the landscape near the Davis Mountains in the desert going to New Mexico.  This scene is repeated night after night all during the year, but fall and spring is the best.
